Not new to this site but a new member. I bought my wife an 06 Liberty CRD last November and she just loves it. I find it a blast to drive because my usual ride is an 06 Superduty diesel (you know, kinda big). Anyway, here in the last couple of weeks we've noticed that there is a sound that occurs basically only under acceleration, though you can hear it a little when cruising. I liken the sound to that of letting air out of a ballon slowly (kind of a squeaky sound) mixed in with a little turbo whine. Anyone have a clue what that might be. It runs fine, no studdering or anything, takes right off as usual.

Have you checked the CAC hose from the compressor side of the turbo to the intercooler? Some of the fasteners have found to work themselves loose or come loose from the factory. Hence, the compressor pushing out 27psi under load coupled with a loose ring can cause some of the wheezing.

Talk about a quick reply. :D I was cuirious if it were a loose fitting. I'll give it a look when I get home. It is that kind of sound that sounds like air leaking. I've only briefly looked under the hood but I'm sure I can find the appropriate hoses. Funny thing, I've only looked under the hood of my truck a couple times now that I think of it. This coming from someone with an old muscle car that I'm slowly but surely putting into good form. Thanks again for the input DZL_LOU.

Been awhile but I finally took the time to check the CAC in hose and sure enough there was oil around it at the intercooler. I disconnected it, cleaned things up and retightened everything. The test drive went very well with almost none of the sound left. I suspect the remaining sound is a small amount of leftover oil in the system but it certainly made all the difference in the world.

:D This thing is just a blast to drive....
