I was browsing around different web sites and saw that you could get a propane injection kit for around $1,200 with tank. i was wondering if anybody has done this or contemplated about doing it? any suggestions?

I have not done it and will not do it. I installed a Dr. Performance Predator Module on my CRD and that woke the motor up real nice. I know of a few people who have installed Methanol Injection Kits on their Superduty's and are making alot more power. With the libby CRD motor I cannot attest as to how the bottom ends on these motors are built and cranking the power up that much may be asking for trouble. Nitrous, Methanol or Propane injection all raise power tremendously. Just my two cents.

I emailed the tech guy from where i found the kit and he said the propane injection would boots it about 30hp and increase fuel economy by about 10%. i guess this system is vacuum drawn so it will only allow enough propane so the motor doesn't blow. i don't know very much about the whole propane things but i heard its not as bad for your motor as nitrous or methenal.

The tank that is recomended is 8.5 gallons and measures 8x42in. if you don't use the trunk alot i would say put it there, if you do i guess you are S.O.L. unless you have one custom made for under the back seat, but then you are getting in to big bucks$$$. This is all from just one website http://www.parleysdieselperformance.com.

How would burning 2 fuels at an accaelerated rate, one of them a considerable BTU decrease to diesel give a 10 percent increase in fuel economy?

I believe when most peeps quote a MPG increase, they are just calculating the diesel fuel and not considering the cost of the propane.

If propane actually increased the fuel economy (after the cost of the propane), you'd see every semi around with a propane tank hanging off the side of it.

IMO, there is no doubt, propane adds power, but it is not a way to decrease your fuel cost per mile.
