| Post subject: | Cross Country Trip |
Well I returned to Delaware from Camano Island, WA this weekend and the CRD performed very well. I also pulled a small trailer with only a few hundred pounds in it. The Jeep was loaded with me and my wife, 2 black labs, and plenty of goodies to keep us rolling. Four days of driving and three hotels later we made the 3000 miles trip. It handles the mountains with ease and all the weather dished out. I program the GPS to avoid tolls thru Chicago and saved at least $30 in tolls. We traveled mostly about 70 MPH with some areas allowing 75-80 MPH. The fuel mileage on the overhead console shows 27.7 average MPG when we arrived to our home in Delaware. I have to say I’m quite pleased. |

Did you use an fuel additives or Bio during your trip? If so, was there any noticible differances? |

No additives and only #2 diesel. I didn't get great mileage until I went cross country pulling a loaded trailer the first time in June and hit over 6,000 mile. Fuel mileage picked up right after then like the work broke it in. Also the shuttering that I felt was fuel not trans is gone. I keep the air filter clean. I found if I go over 70 or the tach goes over 2,000 RPM the fuel mileage will drop. Could of done better if I could keep it slower but the wife and the dogs were so much in a hurry. |
