Has anyone gotten better then 24mpg using a calculator to figure out
MPG using actual amount put into the tank and trip miles?

I hand calculated 26 mpg on a 300 mile trip at an average of about 70 mph.

33.7 MPG with 41 PSI nitrogen filled OEM 225/75/R16 Goodyear tires, running 68/70 MPH on interestate running B5 49 cetane fuel. Most short trips were 27/28 mph due to driving 75/80 MPH range.

24.5 at 75 (hand calcualted) (26 corrected for odo error), stock tires at 38. Remember you probably have a 6% error in your odomotor. I expect this to improve as the engine breaks in...I am now at 1600.

About the same here in town pretty much. 8) I did give wrong PSI, it is my Magnum that has the 41 PSI and the wife's Jeep is 38 PSI, with both vehicles running nitrogen filled tires.

There can be so much variation from one fll to the next on a diesel even if you are patient. I have been patient a couple of times and hand calculated against the EVIC finding no significant difference. If I was not patient on the fill or I forgot to calculate my odometer error I would get significantly different results on hand calculation and they would not be as reliable as the EVIC.

My results are a little under Darby for long trips, about 32 MPG at 38 lbs of air.

How much N can you compress into a spare carry tank Oldnavy? There is a post in the general section about using CO2 but I know many are switching to N for road use.

is nitrogen worth it? it just keeps the pressure more constant right?

How do you know? And is it a good 6% or bad? Do we all have it?

To get the best mileage, IMHO, you need to get your truck above 10K miles, you need to get above 64 MPH in OD, you need to drive above 58 MPH or you will drop a gear and you need to stay under 75 MPH or wind resistance will kill you.

Several here with '06 domestics have repeatedly recorded 6% odometer errors with it reading slow. can't vouch for export or '05. Apparently there is a speedometer error to although not as great.

Pretty much that is the benefit...does not expand as much as air when heated...

Crazy racers used to try helium to "lighten up" thier unsprung weight...LOL
