| Post subject: | Seat Spotting |
Did I read a referance to a seat spotting TSB in an earlier post? After ~4 wks of ownership and 1600 miles, my passenger seat is spotting like crazy. No water has gotten onto the seats and we've done nothing unusual so something is strange. |

And check out the detailing forum. There are two threads about that, including a temp solution. |

I have an '05 Sport and my friend has an '05 Limited...both have cloth seats (different cloth). both of them get spots very easily. If you open the door and rain gets on the seat, it spots. Same if you set an iced drink between your legs as you drive. spots. I have completely cleaned my seats three times with my "green machine" extractor using upolstry cleaning solution, and it does completely remove the spotting. It always comes back, though. It's something you just have to live with. You might look into some nice seat covers as a permanant solution if it bugs you too much. |

Thanks all. I will put it on the "honey do" list for the dealer to take care off when I take it in for service. If nothing else, they can clean the seats every 6,000 miles from now till the end of warrenty. Let this be a pain in their butt. |

Any chance a person could get the dealer/dc to put in the factory seat covers due to this recurring problem? |

My guess is that, like anything, if enough of us keep bugging the dealer and DC has to pay often enough to fix it under warrenty, they will correct the problem.....until then????? Everytime I take my GC in I have the inaccurate EVIC gas mileage on the list to correct. I also provide detailed records to back it up. Now with my CRD, I can double my pleasure. All this stuff goes somplace in DC and bright young new hires do a six sigma anaylsis before it gets dumped to another bright young new hire in engineering for further review before being returned to the aforementioned BYNH. |
