Over the past weekend the left, front tire pressure sensor died while driving in rain. It was not working for a couple days and then miraculously started working again yesterday morning. I looked at the wheels trying to see if there were any obvious impacts to them and saw nothing other than what appeared to be a ripped piece of aluminum foil sticking out from between the rim and the tire of the left, REAR wheel. Then I recalled the previous weekend the dealer rotated my tires. This piece of aluminum reminds me of part of an RFID tag. Is that how the pressure sensors work? Did the dealer rotate my tires and forget to readjust the computer's tire positions? Anyway, the dealer gets to visit them again next weekend for the ball joint replacement. |

I have the same problem with my TPM and a tire disappearing now and then. It seems worse in the winter. I did find out some info from my local Les Schwab dealer (Great West Coast Tire Outlet for the rest of you) though. The TPM is very sensitive. The original silver dust cap must be used and kept on or they will fail or improperly display. |

Ditto. I've had readings for different tires dissappear (accompanied by dash warning light) at different times, only to reappear as normal within an hour or so. Haven't bothered with it yet. |

If the pressure problem magically appears & disappears, don't forget to check the spare tire also. Seems as if most of us tend to overlook checking & setting the spare in our routine tire pressure checks. Don't ask me how I know. Greg |

Don't ask me how I know. Greg I always wondered what happened on that too until my left front blew and ended up hanging on the back door. The EVIC changed readings to someting like "Low Pressure Indication on Spare Tire" |
