CARMAX. And make sure it's clean, clean, clean, when they appraise it. I traded a 2004 Yukon when I bought my CRD. KBB and Edmunds valued it at about $22k, and the dealers were consistently offering $18 - 19k in trade, no more. Gave me a bunch of BS about no market for SUVs, they won't bring anything at the sale, etc. etc. When I went to a dealer with the $23k Carmax offer, they matched it. And that was after I already negotiated the bottom line price for the CRD. The dealers will screw you if you let them. And I think clean, clean, clean is what got me the extra $1,000.
Been there done that. Carmax quoted me 19000 for it, and believe me it is clean and spit shined. I've got it advertised in several places, so my plan has always been to sell it privately, I was just curious to see what the trade-in looked like.

Three books:
Blue - Retail Dealer Value & Retail Private Party Value
Red - Dealer Trade-in Value
Black - Wholesale used (to this day, most dealers deny this book even exists), it's even hard to find it on the net. It exsits. I've held one in my hands before the days of the internet and there is one web-site (of course, I can't remember it) that has it.
CarMaxx usually offers the median average between Black and Red. Dealerships that talk out of both sides of their mouth (I bet they aren't giving that bulls*t about the shrinking market for SUV's when someone wants to BUY one) are only going to offer Black so they can sell it for Blue.
As for a private party giving you the same amount that a dealership would charge for it, it is unlikely that they will - however - you can probably get within a thousand dollars of the dealers price if you keep it shined up, have the service records, if any, the manuals, both original keys, floor mats, etc ... so that the person buying it doesn't feel they are being short-changed on a "used" car that is so young. Also, if you are the first owner, the 7/70 powertrain can be transferred to the second owner if they call the 1-800 number in the warranty booklet and pay the fee.
I've sold many cars and got very close to the dealer price on most of them. Since the CRD is not being made anymore, you'll probably have an easy time getting your price, but will hve to be patient waiting for that person who REALLY wants one to come along and pay whatever price you're asking.
