Post subject:  Anyone else running a chip?

I just got a scorpion diesel chip and it seems like a big improvement, it still wont get loose without some good power-braking though. Anyone have any experience with these? Does anyone have the stage II SP diesel chip?

Also, does having a chip in combo with an Aero Turbine produce even more power than they say?

I do. I got the SP Diesel Stage 2 and had it for about 6 months. Very satisfied. Power improvement is most noticeable in Overdrive and when pullling my boat. On the other side it also enhances existing transmission problems and I am thinking about selling the module.

How's the boost and fuel pressure gauges on that Sp diesel? What tranny problems are you having?

Gauges are more for the looks than practical, but yeah they work fine. About 1000 miles ago my OD stopped working, everytime it went into OD I had absolutely no torque/power. The dealer performed the TC transm. pump TSB which fixed my OD problem. BUT, I have the tranny shudder at 50-60mph after hard acceleration ever since. Also, when the SP module is hooked up I am getting rough vibrations when pushing the gas hard at low rpms (50mph and 62mph).

Mine did that slow-down shutter thing when I was hunting in kansas. I heard something about a tranny flash to fix it but there was also that recall on mine. I'm not sure if '05 is any different or what improvements they made to the '06, if you know the flash codes that fix the tranny problems please let me know, also the numbers of the power robbing codes...

I found the the same problem you have was air in the fuel system. I found when bleeding the filter clears the problem until more air enter the system. I'm still checking on why it happens. I install purlator inline filter on the tank side to keep an eye on it thru the sight glass. 8)

Thanks for the tip, that sounds like a good reason why its doing that. I unplugges my module thi morning because I had to go and get my oil changed, and its not shuddering or vibrating anymore. It also lost a good amount of torque and responsiveness

This may sound stupid but do you have to remove your chip when you take it to the dealer? or is it just a good idea?

The chip will interfere with dianostic testing and flashes to the computer. Dealer also may want to voild your engine/transmission warranty

Oh yeah, if they see a chip they will void your warranty for sure.

Post subject:  TDC power Box?

Hello?

Been lurking for a while, and I have seen a few chips discussed. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the TDC power box?

Thanks

I was under the impression that even if you remove the chip, if they hook up a diagnostic computer to your car they’ll see you were running “something” non-stock ??

Wooaa here about sp diesel. I tried one of their modules for the and found a little improvement. This was actually a friends so I didn't want to buy one myself after I tried it. I heard about the Trailjammer from Edge and decided to try it. I did and it had at least twice as much power increase over sp diesels chip!!!! So anyway if you guys want more power try EdgeProducts trailjammer module.

I highly doubt that. How is it going to provide more power if it doesnt mess with critical parameters such as rail pressure?

All of the "boxes" and "chips" for the CRD do nothing except for fooling the ECU into thinking that the rail pressure and the boost are lower than they are so that the ECU will raise them accordingly. This is a bad way to do it as the ECU was already programmed for both components to work at their safe maximum levels without stressing longevity of the components. There are no actual programmers for the ECU since the module is locked and encrypted by Bosch, and I believe only one company has attempted to burn their own code into the chip (InMotion) but I still have yet to see conclusive studies or documents from them as to how they actually do what they claim. To each their own I suppose...

Maybe you could get inmotion to have you do a write up on their tune. That would definantly interest me, and I bet you could do all kinds of testing on it. Interested?

Actually it does plug into both the fuel pressure and the boost pressure sensor.

Hmm mine is stock and I have NO PROBLEM doing burn outs, as long as I turn off the ESP or pull the fuse to it.

Been running the SP stage 2 for about 4 months now and although I rarely drive the CRD(wife's) it does make a HUGE difference, better for $500. Without SP I can do maybe a 10' patch. On HO(which I never run) it will SMOKE those ST's off the rims. I leave it in FE mode which has more punch than stock but I get 26+ avg now compared to 23 and when towing my 13' Whaler I get 28+ @ 70 on straight hwy run compared to 24mpg. I am VERY happy. Will let you know more when I have the F37 done on Wed and have a chance to drive it again w/o SP box.

are those claculated mpg results or from the evic? Because evic is way off when the SP module is hooked up, especially in FE mode. I've been running the SP module for 6 months now, last 3 weeks stock though, and have noticed absolutely no difference in mileage, not even a fraction. I hand calculate my mileage after every fill up.
