Well, I've read and re-read all the warranty threads on this web site and as a result have gotten many online quotes for a Chrysler Max Care 0$ deduct extended warranty for both 7/85 B2B and 7/100 B2B. I finally called up my dealership here in Indiana that sold me Jeep and they are not budging on warranty prices for the diesel Liberty. Neither has any other Local dealer. Check this out - when I told him (the very same finance guy I dealt with last year) that he had quoted me the 7/100 plan for as low as $900 while I was buying the Jeep he made an admission that floored me. He said that "it was an aftermarket warranty that was quoted" and they always quote the aftermarket warranty price unless the Chrysler warranty is specifically requested.... I knew it was too good to be true back when I was making my purchase and that's why I passed on it then - they never would show me the actual warranty paperwork at the dealership back then - just kept lowering their price on an "undefined" warranty until I walked... Here is where I'm at: With a promotional email for $190 off, the cheapest final price warranties that interest me cost: 7/70 max care/$0 deduct = $1,285 7/85 max care/$0 deduct = $1,635 7/100 max care/$0 deduct = $2375 A $100 deductible takes about $270 off of each plan. I'm anticipating mileage between 85k and 100k in 7 years, Can't decide if any of this is even worth it so I'd appreciate some quick opinions as I'll be flat on my back for 6+ weeks after today due to a surprise back surgery that I need (merry x-max |

Thanks for the good luck. At least I'm not the only one on here with the back surgery curse. My doctor has labeled me a "redo" as this is to fix a partially botched one from 1998. Had another one in 1992 that has held up just fine. I see a trend here I don't like so I hope I'm done after this as I never aspired to be the "back surgery guy." As for the Jeep.... broken, fixed, broken, fixed, broken, fixed, broken fixed. Yet another disturbing trend. |

I used Warenty direct for my GC and will look into it for my Liberty as well. Prices always go up as the vehicle ages and gets miles so one shouldn't wait too long. |

I have always had good luck with a vehicle extended warranty by Wynn's. It is the one I got with my Libby thru my dealer when new. On my last pickup, Wynn's made enough repairs under the plan to more than make up for the cost. You might want to look into them. I got the 7yr/100K B2B policy and I believe I paid about $1400 - $1500. I made sure and read the fine print to make sure EGR and other problem areas were covered. I will probably get to the 100K before the 7 years. If you check around, there are some good 3rd party extended warranties around. Check with the dealer and see it they offer any. Usually, even with a 3rd party insurer, the dealer will waive any deductable. Mine has a $50 deductable that is waived if I get the work done at my dealer. Just do a little leg work and check out the fine print and shop around for the best deal. DC's plan may be good but not necessarily the best value. I had good experience with Wynn's and my dealer did not even present the DC plan to me. You don't even have to go thru the dealer. Check online for a plan. Requires a little more effort, but you might come up with a better deal. DC might end up being the best, but you will never know if you don't research it out. Good Luck! |

They also had a 5/70,000 mile DC warranty which is what I got at the time of purchase. The rental car perk alone has more than paid for the policy...you get a rent car anytime your Jeep is in for overnight service. I figure I will get about 3.5 years of warranty with the 70,000. |
