Not sure if related to the 2 visits to the dealers, because my sister borrowed the Jeep for 2 months (I know, I know So not only I now have the P0401 code, but the cruise control doesn't work! She told me it happened about the same time the CEL went on, which I don't think is related. Couldn't find in the manual where would the fuse be (is there one?). Any idea what I should do? I'm at 45K so no warranty |

With a run-by-wire diesel, when the cruise fails to work it's usually a problem with the vehicle speed sensor. You should get a CEL if the VSS fails. If you haven't got the F37 done, they are going to reflash both computers and fix the EGR (P0401) problem anyways so a bad sensor will show when they run diagnostics. |

Hmm... I had the F37 reflash, but a CRD always come with a cruise control, they can't mess that, isnt it? Although now I'm thinking they are capable of anything |

My Cruise stopped working because the CEL went on, my cel was caused by a blown fuse for the brake lights. |

Not all CRD's have cruise control, it has to be enabled within the ECM software. There is a chance your dealer got it wrong with the reflash. |

My CC quit working after I went offroad one time. The "cruise" light wouldnt even turn on. I drove it for about 10 miles and it worked fine. |

Mine stopped working due to a broken clock spring wire in the steering head. |

Pretty sure there is a recall on some of the clock springs. |

My cruise stopped "just because" - turned out to be the brake controll module - little tan box. Had it replaced - been good since then. |
