Have an appointment coming up for F37, but I think I'm going to postpone it for a month or so and see what the long term effects of the 'fix' are. Aside from mileage that's never been where I think it should be (18-20 MPG with 100% around town) and a rash of bad glow plugs + 1 bad EGR 6000 miles ago, the vehicle runs fine. I only have a slight shudder at 50 that I can mostly compensate for with driving style. Bottom line is I can't see having a good vehicle torn apart for an unproven fix. So unless someone talks me into this...I think I'm going to sit on the sidelines for a few more weeks. Besides, my crystal ball predicts there will be an F38 (or whatever) or something more dramatic in the near future anyway. -FlyingJ |

But I will probably just fix it elsewhere... By the time I wait for F3000-- the Jeep will be 20 years old. |

The latest rounds of e-mail confirmed it for me. This is a direct quote, “With out the torque "management" program installed the torque converter will fail again". If it won't work with the current torque the it isn't a fix at all its a band-aid. I also told them I am not ok with loosing H.P. and torque. I am going to wait till the liberty won't move anymore. |

What does everyone think about this I'v got an 06 with 21K on the clock, tranny pump and TC are both on their way out IMO. I am not listed for the F37 recall, what do I do...take it in now, and get a band aid fix on a tranny that has friction material floating around in it or wait till it croaks and get a whole new tranny. I am not thrilled about them taking everything apart that they would have to take apart to do this and then still have a screwed up tranny when they put it back together. Should I wait? |

I took mine it at 4k because I noticed shudder and they put in an additive which didn't work. About that time I started bitching at my brother in-law who is an engineer at jeep. Then at 10k in April I took it in for the TCM flash that didn't work. After the last one I came to the conclusion every thing else was going to be a band-aid. My brother in-law, for the last year has been bitching at any one who will listen. DCX finally decided I wasn't going away so they contacted me. After a month of talking with then it doesn't seem that anything good is going to come of it. I know have 21k on mine also and if it doesn't completely fail I will never have the f37 done even if I have to pay for a new trans and custom converter after the warantee runs out. I think I am on the f37 list because I have a history at the dealer for trans issues. If you are ok with loosing power and you want it fixed take it to the dealer and start your history. What is your build date? |

FWIW, the one company I've found so that that offers a complete performance built 45/545 RFE tranny, Performance Automotive and Transmission Center (PATC), lists it for $2700 without a trade-in. Might be considerably less if you trade your original tranny in. That's a good chunk out of pocket, but probably considerably less than eating the loss of trade-in equity and 1 1/2 years worth of car payments, and starting from scratch paying off another vehicle. |

It mandates a new TC and new software. The official clean point was in November 2005. Anything before this definitely needs the CSN work." This maybe why some people are not included. I am not sure what clean point means but there isn't anything clean about it. |

I think it means, everything made after that date already has the F37, and "WE" never had the torque that the earlier ones did. Mine was made in Jan-06, and from day one it has freely revved to 2300-2500 during acceleration and fifth doesn't kick in until about 64 mph. I like mine...ignorance is bliss..... Dave |

I'm sitting this one out too. For as long as I can. I have a lift in my garage and I'd rather put in a TC and pump myself than have the performance of a gas motor and a tranny that will die once out of warranty. |

CATCRD I had both the TQ and pump done, shift points did not change, still pulls the hills like a diesel, mileage went back to where it was when I bought it, 28.8 and 27.5 at 60-65 on two lane road. Had to take it back and have the quick learn done to smooth out the 1-2 shift on mine, with one modification the TransGo kit without the diode added. About as perfect as it can get for now. |

That's the other thing. People's results differ so widely from vehicle to vehicle, I'm not willing to chance the F37. I have few complaints about the vehicle as is, so I'm not going to put it on the operating table. |

I've had to bring mine back after having the F37 recall.. Honestly I regret getting it done.. my tranny was working perfectly before.. but now it sometimes free-rev's then locks up.. so frusterating.. it's a little better now that I brought it to get looked at for the second time, but not perfect.. so it's going back again.. also I can't run my EDGE module cause with the F37 recall the TC can't seem to handle it.., I really miss running that module.. ... This TC problem seems so trivial why can't they just fix it... Shouldv'e kept my Celica GT-S.. |
