| Post subject: | Dash Lamp flash/blink anyone else notice this? |
I just passed 6,250 mi on my 06 CRD with no problems to report. Just one oddity I've noticed was the insturment panel, radio and mini computer display suddenly blink simultaneously or flash brightly (only once) at random intervals. I've had this happen maybe 20 times in 40+ hours of night driving. You can only really notice at night, but even with the dimmer turned "off" it will still blink to full brightness for less than a second then return to normal. No warning lights come on, or messages on mini computer display. Has anyone else experienced this, or any ideas. I certianly don't feel the need to have the dealer go on a wild goose chase of some random electrical glich/surge... Thanks for any comments. |

20 times! that seems like a lot. I would have it looked at just in case. On a side note, once, and only once, all my guages went to zero and all my idiot lights came on at the same time while driving at 50mph. It never happened again, if I recall, someone suggested a body control module or something, I don't remember for sure. |

I had my kj do the same thing. All the parking lights would do it to. It was also in for the shudder and hard 35mph shift. They tried to reflash the ecm and fried it. New ecm and the lights no longer surged. |

Could this have something to do with the multi-function on the steering column? Lewis |

I've had all the warning lights come on at the same time for approx. 2-3 sec and then turn off, this has happened 3 times now in 31K miles |

Lewis I was certain that this was the problem with ours, but no amount of wiggling, twisting, jiggling, tapping or pulling could recreate the problem. So I gave up on that theory for now. |

Haven't seen that yet but I have noticed that if my lights are on at night, that even hitting the door lock or using an electric window makes the lights dim. Just seems like a small accessory shouldn't be putting that kind of load on our systems. |

i've only had this happen once and know exactly what you are talking about. in my case i had my turn signal on and was making a turn (nothing out of the ordinary) and for about 2 seconds every lamp on the dash lit up. haven't seen it any other time, sure is weird though. anybody else had this or know whats up? |

Lewis I think we have a winner........the exact same thing happened on the 2002 Jeep Liberty Sport 4x4 we previously owned. The multi-funtion stalk was replaced under warranty and it never happened again. Greg |
