All, Once again Heritage Jeep/Dodge of Owings Mills, MD has made me a happy customer. They fixed the tranny pan bolt that was sheared off, changed the fluid, and resealed the pan with RTV (all under warranty). I got my diffs and transfer case serviced, rotation and balance, and LBJ recall. They even had a quote for the factory towing package that I had emailed them about. The guy noticed it and pinted it for me at 7:00am in the morning. They did change my oil by accident and for free. They had a rental car ready for me when I showed up at 7:00am so I could go off to work (self-pay rental). I have alway been weary of dealers from bad experiences I had in the past...but this dealer is great! Plus, they had all this done by 2:30pm....and called me promptly to let me know. Plus that cashier lady is so nice. And to top it all off...they are a Dodge dealer too so they have Diesel techs. I was going to do the diffs myself, but with a demanding new job and a two month old little girl, I just don't have the time. I love my CRD so much! |

Also, would you mind stuffing a couple of their techs in a box and shipping them to South Florida ? |

Yes, I think I did that back when I first joined. Had a very good experience with them the first time I took it in as well. I hear ya on the techs...but surely there is a dealer down there that has qualified diesel techs. |

How much was the diff and transfer case service? If you don't mind me asking. I'm going to be coming up on 14,000 here in the next month or two and wanted to plan for the cost. I'm going to get the tranny serviced also. |

Just today, FINALLY got the recall notice for the LBJ's. Go figure. The LBJ notice came out well before the F37. Yet I got the notice for my "Customer Satisfaction" optional F37 recall within a week of it coming out, while the one for the honest-to-god no BS "Safety" LBJ recall takes over 4 months. |

Probably due to many many more vehicles being affected by the LBJ recall vs. the F37. The Diffs and Tcase were all part of one service. They were about $267 pr so. |

Heh, I find it hard to beleive diesel techs wouldn't flock to south florida for those warm sunny days and beaches. My mother bought a place in St. Augustine a couple of years ago and I love it down there. Out in the sticks though. |

Any reason why you are doing this so soon? Were you part of the F37 notification? |

That's the northern end of Florida. It's six or so hours driving from Fort Lauderdale. My Jeep dealer is also a Dodge dealer, so I expected they would comfortable with diesels. When last questioned they only had one diesel tech on staff. Fortunately, I haven't had any diesel engine-specific issues. This is about the best situation, too. Most other Jeep dealers I called don't have any diesel tech. |

It can get cold up there in north FL...but not anywhere near as cold as our winters here in Maryland. Plus, all the back roads have speed limits of 55 and 60 mph...so it makes getting into town pretty fast and fun |
