Can anyone recommend a remote start system that has been installed by a member and has worked as designed. I think I remember this discussion somewhere in the past. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I would stay away from the 'Mopar' (Audiovox) system. The only benefit of the system is that it won't void the warranty. There are many aftermarket ones with lots of features (turbo timers, etc). I have a Viper one on my g/f's Celica and its pretty good. I think another member recommends a Python.

After doing A LOT of reading, I have not found many systems that have what we want/need. It appears that the electronics companies think if you want remote start and a Turbo Timer, then you must also need an alarm, disabler, and key less entry. however this one looks promising, I think I may give them a call or an e-mail next week. I think there should be a couple more, but I think this would be a simple option that may better suit our needs then the Mopar Unit.

Have an Ultra on mine, works good, also had the same one on my 7.3 PSD. Great starter, with really good range, fairly basic features, but very affordable too.

I have a DEI - Python 871XP. It is an alarm/remote start unit. It has a delay for starting, mine is set at the lowest, 10 seconds. It can also be set for turbo cool down. I had them set mine for 3 minutes. If I am really running hard, I may hang out for a couple minutes, then set the turbo cool down.

The turbo cool down is not automatic, you have to press two buttons on the remote before you turn off the Jeep. It has helped me since I usually am running late and would not have time to spare.

Good Luck with it.

I have the Jeep remote start on my CRD and it works great. Had it installed at the dealers and it works as described.
