greeting to all...i am the very excited new owner of a used 2005 liberty crd. i just picked her up. she has 51,000 rounds on her. i have been reading the forums here for quite some time just getting valuable info before i decided to give this a try.

one question that comes to mind and i did try and search it, but on my dash there is a light that is lit up that says "type 43" i drove one other crd before i bought this one and noticed it on it as well. can anyone give me any insight on what this is or what it means.

this is my first vehicle purchased outside of the ford damily of cars. as a matter of fact, i think i have had 6 explorers before this and currently and still driving a few of them. the diesel spiked my interest...so we're goign to give DC a shot

I wondered the same thing. I think it's just the model of the gauge.

Yes, it is the model of the instrument panel. I don't know why they think we care, but they do. When I first drove mine I had my sunglasses on and could not see it. When I drove the next day, I noticed the sun reflecting off it and thought for a second that the CRD had thrown some code or something: Oh great I got a type 43 code. Oh, that is part of the dash, well nevermind.
