Just got recall notice for both front-lower ball joints. Is this something new? |

It is new that you actually got a notice. I've had mine done for 6 or 7 months now and still haven't received official word. |

Yeah I got one too and mine was done months ago. Maybe its time to put on Moogs and show up with the letter demanding cash? |

I had heard that the ball joint replacements in this most recent ball joint recall were Moogs. (?) |

I had heard that the ball joint replacements in this most recent ball joint recall were Moogs. (?) I'm inclined not to believe that. A service tech over on Jeepforum says that when doing a LBJ recall recently, he had to go thru 4 sets of the "new" ball joints supplied by DC before he found a set that would fit properly. |

I took my CRD to the dealership last Friday morning to evaluate a really bad squeeking noice that happens every time I go over a bump in the road. That and the steering wheel leather has small rips in it. I have yet to get a call that it's done. Been in a rental since last week. Gotta love that customer service. |

My recall notice says that this lower ball joint replacement must be done even if you had it done the first time around. But when I type in my VIN on Jeep.com, it says that there aren't any outstanding recalls on my vehicle. I had the original recall done as soon as the story broke on it. I guess I'll give the dealership a call to see what they think. |

I had our Liberty in for an IC hose, and they mentioned that there's a new recall regarding the blower motor, and they took care of it while it was in. I think it's all Liberties though. |

There were pre-CRD ball joint recalls on all Liberty's, that's why the recall notice says that you need to have it done again even if it had been done before. If you have had yours done since this most recent recall was originally released months and months ago then you should be OK with the CRD. For some reason Jeep has double sent the most recent recall notice to most about three or four months after they sent the first even if you had the recall done already. |
