Should be a baby blue or medium blue wire - it might be taped up in the bundle down by the firewall ...

Found a red wire behind a white-like colored plate marked "electric brake". This I take is the wire for the trailer brake, not for the stoplight/brake pedal wire of the brake controller.

If you have the factory tow package all of the connections for the trailer are at the receptacle by your hitch. THe only things that you need to add are for the electric brake controller. If memory serves when I did mine a year ago you run wires directly to the battery for power and ground with a breaker on the hot side. You take one of the remaining two wires and connect it to the appropriate wire on the brake light switch on the steering column under the dash and the other wire to the one in the bundle that you have located. Hook it all togther and you are done.

Even if you don't it should still be there. I added the OEM wiring harness for the 7pin connector out back, and still had the red (IIRC) wire plainly labeled for the electric brake.

That's the wire I couldn't find :!: Red with white tracer is the source for the power line that goes back. It should have constant power and a fuse in position 10 under the hood in the power box.

Reguarding your brake wire. Do you have the factory two package or the EVIC? if not you'll have to add the "complimentry" harness to the rear.

Here's a very complete write up on towing wiring on Liberties
