Post subject:  CRD needed in CA

Well, the disease is spreading. Anybody with a CRD anywhere near CA interested in selling? They are VERY rare out there.

My brother, who actually regularly does some mountain off-roading to paraglide, needs a decent SUV with high mpg 'cause of the seriously crazy fuel prices out there. He also huals a fair bit a junk around as a regular part of his day (he is a wine maker in Napa), and could use the tow capacity. Basically, it is the perfect vehicle for him, but he can't find one. eBay is NOT the place...mostly because of quality.

Please guys, he's thinking about a Ford Escape Hybrid. C'mon, help prevent that crime from occuring! At this point he is thinking about one from OR, so I guess distance isn't an issue.

Thanks.

I'm not sure, but I thought the CRD was not CA emissions compliant.

They can be imported if used and more then 8,000 miles or so on the odometer. If price is right I can deliver a nice CRD to the left coast, but would rather someone pick it up. Ours has about 26,000 miles on it if intrested PM me.

No I'm not selling because it is a problem vehicle, or some such. It has actually been pretty problem free. It's just that I like to sell things, and will sell about anything I own if price is right.

Litha Jeep in Reno has one with just under 13k miles on it. Check out the used section at www.renojeep.com for pics and details.

Warning - they are kind of proud of it though.

I've got one in Orange County CA., but I'm not sure I'd let it go.

2006 liberty limited CRD has
-All skid plates
-tow package
-trailer brake controller
-rear air spring assist with pump and controls
-SP diesel stage II performance chip
-remote start
-11000 miles

Got an offer?

My dad was that way. I remember as a kid, we were having a yard sale once. Things went well and just about everything sold. He began pulling things out of the house. :o

We haven't had a yard/garage sale since we sold the first house we owned. I had left to get donuts for us, and when I got back the wife had sold my archery set for $25 to someone that asked about buying it and my DA B-in-L didn't stop her. I had just bought new box of arrows the day before, and they went with the whole outfit. :x

We were poor back then, and I am sure he thought it was Christmas come early with the cash that was coming in. He didn't sell anything we absolutely needed, except those house fans, and an old B&W TV that I would have liked to have in my room. Come to think of it, the fans were the type that you needed to manually spin for about a minute before they would take off on their own. :D

Wow! Two of us in OC?

I am actually thinking of letting mine go as I have a Pinzgauer that actually fits my needs a bit better than the CRD.

Drop me a PM.

Thanks guys. Feel free to PM me or post here.

I have a feeling he's looking for an 05 with miles on it (ie cheaper) but I'll pass along all info. Distance isn't a big an issue, he travels a lot.

Also, North Eastern CRD's near me are actually OK cause he'll come for a visit and drive it back.

Thanks again.

Both of those crds used cost more than mine new! Take it in on trade for 12-16k and turn it for at least 20k. I need to start selling cars!

I'll deliver one from anywhere to anywhere for a price, got three months off work and would love an excuse for a nice cross country trip. Not kidding either.

That's similar pricing I'm seeing here in Nashville. As I said, mine is a 2005 and I bought it with 9600 miles on it for $19,100. All the others I found were over $20,000 with at least 18,000 miles on them.

Diesels sell EXTREMELY well here. They are hard to find and when you find them, they demand a premium price.

If you think Nashville is getting a good price, you should move to CA!!! Of course, they are in short supply there. Meanwhile, dealers on Autotrader in TX are selling them for mid-teens. Maybe they have too many diesels and too much oil to worry about it!

Update: Brother is thinking of buying in a few months, I've encouraged him to join this forum. High mileage CRD's are ok by him.

All the PM's and info is going to get to him, thanks everyone.
