I was wondering how may CRD owners in the forum are filling up on bio-diesel? I just topped off w/ 11 gal. of B20 for $3.17 a gallon, this was my primary reason for investing in the CRD. I plan on using it frequently now that I found a pump in my area. |

I run B20 in my CRD. At $2.79/gal it's cheaper than petro diesel and it's better for your engine. The chain of markets that has the B20 pump is installing 13 more pumps in my area this summer. They say the biodiesel is selling well. One of the new locations will be about a mile from my house. YEAH! Right now I'm having to drive about 35 minutes round trip to fill with B20. I just don't like the thought of putting petro diesel in my engine. All that soot and crap. EW! |

I have run up to B50 in my CRD but that was home brew bio. The pump near me is B10 and that is what I always run, because it is cheaper than the other diesel pumps around here. $2.63/gal for B10 compared to $2.69-$2.85 for ULSD at different stations. |

I can only get B5 at the pump, but that is all I run ever. I get awsome milage with the ORM. right now i'm >30MPG all the time. I ran B20 for a while but it was off-highway LSD @500ppm sulfer. it made the EGR get gunked up. |

I would, and probably will if I find it on our impending Road Trip to DC. But I will also have it delivered to a storage tank to be used in the Lib, and our other diesel equipment, after the trip. But I would probably go to B-5 in the winter. K |

I've gotten my best mileage running the only B-20 I can find between my house and my job in Toledo, OH. 2 Meijer Gas stations in Ann Arbor sell B20 for the same price as petrol-diesel. The only problem is petro-diesel is 20 cents cheaper in Toledo than there. I haven't tried B20 post ORM though... Ripple: Where are you finding B5 in T-Town? I work in the vicinity of 75 & Stickney - If you know the geography you get 3 guesses where and the first 2 don't count. |

I've had nothing but good experience with B20. I've run B100 a lot too and it decreases power a bit overall and I think it ate the cellulose in the factory fuel filter but otherwise also good results. I'm getting a synthetic caterpillar 2micron to replace it and all will be well, again. |

I'd run BioD if I could find some mixed with ULSD!!! I have to pass just about each station because they only have LSD/BioD. |

We have B20 from the pump at a handful of stations here in SLC. We have run it from the first tank....All winter, no problems, even in the single digits! Ran up to B50 before it got cold, hopefully we can bump back up now it is warm again!! I also run up to B100 in my PSD. Both it and the Libby have made the same trips on b20 and petrol, and BOTH show a noticable mpg improvement on B20 and higher. Round trips to Moab, and Zions NP/Vegas. At least 1mpg as figured manually and duplicated over at least 3 trips in each vehicle....Only one trip in the Libby was b50 and one in the psd at b100, so, not a clear pattern, but only slightly better then b20.... Just my humble experience.... |

You might want to be aware that this list may be monitored by Jeep, and contents herein used to invalidate warranty claims. Mind you, they'd try to invalidate *any* fuel-related issue as being caused by bad fuel, whether biodiesel or not. Besides, all diesel is biodiesel if viewed in light of geological time scales. |

Let's home DC reads this forum. They can get a good insight into what their customers want. The internet is a wonderful place. Remember the Magnuson-Moss Warranty act...it protects us from blanket warranty denials. If you have a fuel related issue, and you've been running an unapproved fuel, then yes, they can and should deny you warranty coverage. It's not their fault. Now, if your ball joints come apart, it's not because you're running biodiesel. They can't deny coverage. |

I've run every percentage possible. I'm not a big fan of 100% in the winter. Currently, there are no public pumps in CT with even B5, so I get it delivered to my house for $3.50/gallon. Hurts a little with diesel at $2.90, but I'm a big fan of the US of A, of farmers, and an even bigger fan of breathing. I wouldn't give money to the middle east anymore than german jews would have given contributions to Hitler's re-election campaign. I lost a roomate, a kayaking buddy (a Korean war vet) and a co-worker (a muslim man) on 9/11. |

. Regardless of political and religious affiliation, oil producers (worldwide) are just businesses. They stay in business because people buy their product and they're usually good at selling it. The US is has victimized itself in that regard by "putting too many eggs in one basket" so to speak, so speak out for change and support worthwhile projects. Most importantly, support the businesses and technologies tha you want to succeed. I'd personally love to see some producers using non-foodcrops for oil. America has to breath, but it has to eat, too Algae is one alternative that I think the CRDs would love: http://www.oilgae.com/ |

Can we stay on topic please? Thanks. BTW I could care less in DCX monitors this, there are plenty of other mods they wouldn't approve on here. I love my CRD! |

I heard somewhere that DC has approved B20 for our CRDs. It used to be only a max of B5 was recommended. Can anyone verify this? |

If biodiesel is cleaner, lubes better, and reduces deposits...why on Earth would a manfacturer not reccomend the use of it. That's like saying, "You can only run used oil in your car or we'll void your warranty". Sheesh! |
