Admittedly I only searched around the Seattle area, but this is still pretty surprising. Only 154 miles and listed as new.

Can't believe there would still be an unsold new CRD kicking around.

I can ... at $28,795 for a one year old left-over, it has no leather, no sunroof, no heated seats, no sirius and no spare tire cover. They are supposed to list and sell them discounted. He has had it for so long because his ask price is way too high for someone to make an offer on a truck that is actually worth - maybe $23k.

It is rare to find them new at this point though, I agree with you there.

While I agree that the price is high, I find it amusing that all the features you listed are ones I specifically would not buy a vehicle with(with the exception of the spare tire cover). Lots of stuff that will break at some point and be very expensive to replace. And I hate leather seats. ;)

The "cult" icon has begun!!! :D

I like the look of the spare tire without a cover. I thought about buying a cover, but I just looks cool without on.

Thanks -- actually I don't plan on buying this CRD. If I was to buy, I'd go down to the South and try to pick up an '06 CRD Sport for under $20k and drive it back up here -- the Pacific Northwest is no place to buy a used diesel vehicle.

Maybe after I finish my master's degree in accounting in a couple years and get my CPA.

My folks got a similar '06 CRD LTD but with a spare tire cover for around $26.5k new. Asking price on it was similar to this CRD's price. The dealer was ready to deal...

Well I'll be, something we both agree on! :)

I'm pretty much in the same camp. I have a CRD sport. I HATE sunroofs. At 6'5" tall, all they do is eat up my headroom and I never use them anyway. Leather is nice, but not worth what they charge for it.

Typically all I want in a vehicle is a CD player, keyless entry, and power windows and locks. I also like the automatic after rowing a 5 speed in traffic with my last car. Dang it's nice to be able to eat and drive again. :)

Mine is just like that and has Sirius radio and luggage tray in the back. Price was just over that but I got it for $23,800 plus T&T with 9 miles on it a year ago this month :D

Spare tire cover is standard at least on my 06 Limited.

I knew there were some left!!!! That's most likely NOT the only one. I'm sure there's a few more scattered about somewhere in this country.

It is the sticker price and if someone wants to buy it with out negotiating they would be more than glad to sell to them.

Once the word gets out what these beasts can get for mileage with a decent torque converter in them. they WILL become a collectors item.

Check over on the aftermarket TC thread - Ranger1 hit 40 mpg at one point cruising down the interstate at 60 mph after getting the Suncoast TC installed.

I mean, 40 MPG IN A 4300 LB BRICK!!!!!

One word to the TDI mileage champs - be nervous, be very nervous - we're just getting started with this beast!

He's asking for more what I paid for my Limited new, with leather, tow package, and side curtain airbags. The ad is inconsistent. It appears to be a Limited CRD, but the Model Info tab describes only a 3.7l gasser.

Unfortunately, on Chrysler cars, those aren't the things that break ... it's transmissions, engine electronics and other mechanically related items that amount to the high cost of repairs. Having owned chrysler cars in the past, i'd have been happy if something as simple as the radio or the sunroof was all that went wrong with it.

X2... paid less than that for my 2005 CRD Limited in March 2006 with 20 miles on the clock.

Oh, and as for leather seats, I drove around a friend's son 2 days after I bought the CRD and he had a banana in his hand, which got transferred to his backside, which got smeared all over the back seat and was not found till hours later.... Well, a damp washcloth later and it was good as new. Try that with cloth
