Sets the bar high. A lot of sound system for the least-quiet version of the Libby! |

I like yellow - but I prefer the 'before' picture. (I'm wondering about the acoustic's of the Sub box, I used to know a Engineer who's Thesis was acoustic design - that Yellow box doesn't look anything like the one's optimized for Signal to Noise ratio - or mimimizing harmonic distortion ) |

I'm all for people customizing their vehicles, but honestly, multi-thousand-dollar entertainment systems belong in your living room or home theatre and multi-knobbed tires, trailers, and mud belong on a CRD. I love listening to classical in my vehicle, but no amount of acoustical treatments and electronics will make up for the shortcomings of being in a small resonant, rattling box. I'll be the 1812 overature would blast his rear glass out |

I used to dabble in building car audio systems. I was always big on sound quality. I hated the "boom boom" systems. They sounded like crap. No tonal quality, no imaging, boomy punchy bass. I like tight controlled accurate bass. The way it is in real life. If you listen to an upright bass, it's not really that loud. The only instrument that produces a decently loud low note is a pipe organ. Put a copy of Requiem (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Requiem_(Mozart)) in a high quality audio system and when the organ hits the 18hz low note, it's awesome. You feel it, but you can't hear it. You may hear a room harmonic from the walls vibrating, but you won't hear the note. It's awesome! I'd love to put a nice system in my Liberty. Maybe someday. The Liberty has lots of potential. |

Like you, I am also in the sound quality. Two tens in a small sealed box is sufficient for most audiophiles. My girlfriend has two twelves in a sealed box in her ford focus, and that mofo gives me a headache! (my fault, i figured the twelves were only 10 dollars more than the tens, so why the heck not?) I have two tens in the back of my libby in a small sealed box with a 600W RMS (1000W max) class D mono amp, and it sounds wonderful with zero clipping (using less than half gain on the amp) and almost no harmonic distortion and I still have plenty of cargo room back there. Recently one of the subs blew from old age, and with only one ten inch sub, it's still not that bad! I eventually want to get some components for up front to replace the paper factory drivers. I'll probably just use the stock mounting locations. |

Not that it's in any way on-topic, but I'm getting "fuzzing" from the driver's side tweeter and it's driving me crazy. It seems to be most evident with AM talk radio and during very specific passages of classical with horns or vocal frequency range. I'd love to put a CD with specific frequency ranges in progressive order so I can tell what's causing the problem before I start throwing money at the problem. Know of any recordings like that which I can burn to CD? |

Sadly, most SUVs never see dirt. Mine is on the road most of the time, but if I see a dirt road or big construction site I am always tempted to turn into it. Of course, I have no skids, so when the trail gets bumpy, I turn around. |

I tried the lemon yellow thing but it just looked washed out. I went to a caterpillar yellow and now it looks much better.

I am looking for front speakers now. it is a toss up between Infinity Perfect and Focal Utopia. I have Kappa 1CS system sitting at home but I don't want to put it in the KJ. I will reuse my Infinity Kappa 202a and the Kenwood PS200T, 2X Brax 1farad caps, Focal kevlar 13", Syrincs variable phase shift Bass Box II and My Kenwwod Excellon head unit. Sorry but the Alpine will not go back in a car, the WORSE $800 I ever spent on a headunit. The front speakers are starting to let go with the high power head unit. I have already had everything appart so I know where I have to run everything and insert the tweeters in the dash. |

To each his own but if I spent that kind of money on my CRD it would have a solid front axel and 32' tires instead of a stereo system and yellow paint. Though I do I like the yellow on a liberty too bad they didn't offer it in yellow. And don't get me started on being stuck in traffic near someone imposing their taste in music on the rest of us at extremely loud levels.. |

And don't get me started on people who smoke their nasty a** cigarettes while sitting in traffic and smoke me out! effin gross! For people like that I don't feel bad about cranking it up and rolling down the windows. If they are going to share their carcinogens with my lungs, I will share my music with their ears. At least my music won't kill them or give them cancer. Seriously though, with my system, I don't even think I could bother someone if I tried. Granted I have an aftermarket headunit and subwoofers, but the speakers up front are factory paper, and I only have two tens in a selad box in the back. |
