ok im fixen to pull the trigger on something... after reading the thread of " lifts that are CRD spef." im left with just a few questions...

1 - Daystar 2.5
2 - 500lbs springs

now that the springs are out and are running about $300 vs $250 price isnt a factor. So the question is:

if you were to do it over again, now that the springs are out, would you stay with the Daystar 2.5 or go with the springs instead? And why would you swich or stay the same?

I have the Daystar and I will buy the Springs soon
(I'm debating spending money on transmission upgrades 1st)

the Daystar still leaves you with 410 lb springs - when I added the ARB it dropped the front end amost an inch - that's ground clearance I want back - and I want to add a winch in the future - the combo needs the 500 lb springs
however that's 150 lbs on the front that a stocker doesn't have.

If you're staying with the stock bumper and no winch - it's a better question - the 500 lb - may be too stiff - I don't know - OzLTD's custom 465 lb - seemed a better compromise - but shipping is as much as the springs.

I posted this in another thread.

"I have the CRD Frankenlift with the Ranchos but will be switching them out this weekend to the OME struts with the CRD 500# springs. I will post a review when I am done. I can tell you that I have been completely happy with the Rancho's on this Jeep and on my previous gasser so we will see..."

The old CRD Frankenlift used the Daystar pucks and like I said above, I was completely satisfied. However, I have a new winch bumper that I will be putting back on after powdercoating. I noticed on my drive to and from Moab that there was the beginnigs of a bounce in the front end, and was the reason for the switch. I will take it out driving to see the difference and post the review when I'm done.

If the Daystar pucks were adequate then ALLJ's wouldn't looked to OME to improve upon it. The springs are also rated for an after market front bumper.

I love the 500lb springs. They are so much nicer than the stock springs. I would and did change over to the springs and it was a great decision.
