My CAC hose is seeping oil, and Im do for an oil change anyways so I figure Ill just have them change the hose then. Is the Replacement hose any better? Or does it still seep? Im wondering if I should just clean mine out and be done with it because I know it will be a 2 day ordeal with the dealer.

Here is the link with pictures for the OEM and replacement CAC hoses. I personally like the OEM hoses because you could easily see oil film from the CCV on the walls of the hose.
The all seep oil, but I used to get oil "bead sweat" from the OEM hose and I don't get it from the replacement hose. Also could be due to the Provent......

The new hose is made from a significantly different material, looks more like a vynal than a rubber/silcone combo. It doesn't seep oil, didn't fix the fact that it still blew oil like nobodys business, just didn't leak through the hose material anymore.

I just got a recall notice on my wife's 2002 Audi (with a 1.8T) for replacement of the CAC hoses due to "premature failure from crankcase vapor", i.e. oil blowby. So, I guess it takes about 5 years for fail completely if you don't change it out, now :)

Had mine replaced under warranty a few months back. Mine was doing the weeping thing. No trace on the replacement. Out of sight, out of mind???? Not on your life.

Just took the CRD in for the oily CAC (Intercooler )upper hose and had them check the turbo and show nuff they're going to replace the turbo and the CAC hose. We didn't notice any increased oil usage. Have the dealer check the turbo for leaking oil seals when addressing the oily CAC hose. Our dealer also handles heavy duty diesel trucks. It may be worth our time to search out these types of combination dealers even if we have to drive a-ways. I asked them to clean out the intercooler also. Don't know if they'll do that yet. If not I'll rip it out and take it to the radiator shop. Going to straight pipe the PVC after this like all the other diesels out there dag nabit. I still feel this engine is a sleeper with all that high rail pressure multi valve high compresssion reinforced block potential.

I wouldn't mind the new CAC hose.

More about my CAC hose, It hasn't gotten any worse since I switched to the Shell Rotella T 5W-40.... I took a peek in there today, whatever is in there, whether it's oil or soot combined with condensation or whatever other theories...

It's bone dry. That's a good thing right?
