After replacing the fuel filter for the first time today, I pumped the primer a dozen or so times before I reconnected all the connectors. I immediately heard an air leak and found it (and a few fuel bubbles) coming from inside the right side connector: (I didn't think to take a pic until I buttoned it all back up.)

After drying it out and wondering how changing the filter could cause this. I figured the seal on the connector was keeping this leak at bay all along. I reconnected it, primed it and had no leak...

Has anyone else seen this behaivor? Which connector is this, should I even be worried? Can't wait to explain this to my dealer...

Thanks

PS: Since my CRD is only a few months old to me this forum has been great - most of my questions have been answered by my lurking here. Thanks!

Thanks for the good picture but this a well known problem. It's the plug for the fuel heater and they melt in that area. In addition it will allow air to get into the system and cause driveability problems. If it's still under warranty have the dealer replace it if not get one on line. Then put some diaelectric grease on the plug for a better connection. Hopefully a good replacement will be found for it
