Post subject:  My EHM

I have been looking at all the EHM pictures and reading all about it for a long time now. I worried about how hard it would be, if it would steam alot, smoke alot or just dump out mass amount of oil. Well last night I finally decided to do it. I went to Canadian Tire and Home Depot for all my supplies. I bought:

many small hose clamps
a grey plastic pvc T (3/4")
10' of heater hose (3/4", same as old hose)
one grey pvc plug (3/4")
one grey pvc coupler (3/4") joines two pieces together

This is what I used, I actually bought a few more things but didn't use anything else. I plugged off the old hose with that grey pvc plug and put a hose clamp on firmly but not overly tight. I don't want that plug coming out. I used hose clamps on all new connections, all snug but not to tight. I ran the hose straight out from the CCV and towards the battery, under the wiring harness and in front of the oil fill cap. Then routed it behind the battery and in front of the fuel filter down beside the motor and underneath along the frame to the first cross member. I zip tied it all in place so it wont fall, I also placed a second hose over top the new one I routed over the motor to give it protection from rub through because this motor can shake a little.

I cut the hose just bellow the fuel filter area, placed the T there and had the T face the driver and up at an angle towards the fuel filter. Then I slapped the coupler on at the end of the hose. I found that the coupler will perfectly fit a water bottle opening. So, I will have a water bottle at the end to collect oil. I can pull it off at any time or just look under the jeep to see how much has collected. The end of the dips down a little so it will drain good. The reason for putting the T into the hose is so that if it freezes up down below or the bottle becomes full then the hose can fill up but the T will remain free of blockage and thus allowing the air to escape and not blow seals.

I will try and get some pictures up sometime, adding the bottle tonight. I might eliminate the hose after the T and just put the bottle at the bottom of the T. This will eliminate excess hose and will keep the oil and hose up high in the heat, but maybe to much heat? Think the motor might melt it. I just thought of this little bit at the end.

Once I add some pictures this might be easier to picture in your mind. I thought it up while at home depot looking at all the possibilities of connections.
