Use the search function. DZL_LOU already posted many pics of the EGR and AFC - there is a long thread on it as well.

This is a good thread. The more people experimenting with the mod, the more data we'll have on it's effectiveness.

Could someone please post diagram/pics or bettter descriptions of locations of:
AFC plug
FCV plug
EGR plug (is it even different from the FCV?)

I will assume most know where the MAF plug is at this point, its in the FAQ's sticky.

Oldnavy? Could we impose on you again?

The flow control valve (FCV) is directly behind the alternator. The connector is on top in plain sight. You can have it disconnected about 10 seconds after opening the hood.

The EGR plug is much harder. Behind the FCV is a 90* elbow that goes into the intake manifold. The EGR connector is directly underneath that. If you have skinny, nimble hands you can reach under and disconnect it. If you look down between the elbow and the motor you can see the connector (it's grey). I was able to stick a long, skinny screwdriver down there and pop the connector loose.

What is the AFC? That's a new one to me.

EDIT: Are these correct?

EDIT 2: I changed the pictures since the below comments were made, I mistakenly disconnected the glow plugs. I have edited the images.

Ok in photo #2 that is the FCV I think

and in photo #3 there was a connector there but I don't know what it went to.

Photo #2 is the flow control valve connector.

In photo #3 if you follow the oil dipstick down into the cavern just to the right you see a piece of black and gray plastic. The gray plastic is the EGR connector. The connector is hard to get to by trying to reach under the intake plumbing. I was able to stick a long, skinny screwdriver down the cavern and eventually pop the connector off.

Photo #3 shows the clip that the glow plug connector slides onto. If you disconnected that black connector, you just disconnected all 4 glow plugs from the glow plug controller relay!!

No, they're not. You may want to edit these pics so as to save someone from mistakenly disconnecting their glow plugs (photo #3)- that certainly won't help engine performance. This engine uses the gp's anytime the cylinder burn temps fall below optimum, not just on cold startup.

Right on, good to know. Thats why I posted the pictures and asked because I thought I didn't unplug the right things, lol. I will edit the pics. Now to find the EGR, lol.

Hi

Unplugged it, turbo lag seems almost 4 fold when unplugged,

Does it have to be @idle or something when you unplug it, or just ignition on, does it matter ?.

It matters....engine & ignition needs to be off. Hopefully it failed in the open position or can still rotate open when the engine is turned off. You may want to drop the CAC hose and check.

Driving yesterday with FCV, MAF unplugged (off road, of course) I felt like there was a DECREASE in the butt-dyno readings from just MAF unplugged. Haven't been able to get EGR unplugged.

Perhaps the FCV isn't fully open in the "default"? I'll pop the CAC and check, but that seems a stupid de-fault.

Anyone else with the same config notice a decrease from FCV+MAF VS MAF only?

Yes, "feels" less power too, will have to drop hose next week.
Also notice more tapping sound with FCV unplugged.

Know FCV valve "works" though;
with ignition on, unplug it, high pitch sound goes away and plunger valling sound can be heard.
