paid 3.19, same price as regular diesel.......got B20.

Right off the bat I can tell the exhaust smells different, I also bled some air out today and took the chance to smell it on the rag.

Pretty cool new thing to me, Im wondering what my exhaust would smell like with a higher blend blend.

Also checked the mileage after about 1/4 tank(only burned through that much since filling it with dino and driving down for my inspection and back) with about 150 miles of highway at 75-80mph, and 30 miles of around town hot rodding(I kept flooring it because it was so much fun!) averaged 24mpg, not too bad, I cant wait to see what the highway only mileage peaks at!

Smells even better at 100%. But you definitely loose 2-4% in mpg going 100%

Watch the fuel filter for clogging on a used Diesel switching to high-blend Biodiesel, especially since it seems that the previous owner (from what we saw of the Air Filter), didn't have a high regard for maintainace or (probably) fuel quality. Plus, that tank probably sat in a lot for a while in the winter and condensed water in ther tank...promoting sticky growth. Old, gummy fuel gunk gets dissolved really fast in biodiesel and can get in the fuel filter. This is all an outside chance of occuring, it usually happens when putting biodiesel 20 year old vehicles (especially tractors).

Heck, time to put a new filter head and CAT filter on anyways...right?

I wouldnt have put any b100 in anyway, as is I put in B20 in with 3/4 of regular, that makes it something like B5 now.

The air filter wasnt a maintence issue, when it went turtle the engine oil runs all sorts of places it shouldnt. if you look at this pic youll see on the left the engine oil didnt wick all the way over, so there is still some oil free paper remaining, that appears to be fairly clean.

Even if the local stations carried a higher blend I wouldnt go for it yet just for the reason you are saying, gonna run some B20 through it for awhile before switching to really high blends....

And ya, fuel filter is on the this of things to be done in socal.
