Just got it in last Wednesday......ordered 03/23/07 and arrived at Cornett Chrysler in Irvine, KY. May 25th........

My 2003 Dodge RAM 2500 w/CTD and NV5600 six speed was a great truck, but I'm 42 and started getting lazy shifting gears.

The new 68RFE is a great transmission behind the 350/650 6.7L Cummins. Just added a little bling to it this weekend.

Certainly.......I could've bought a HEMI. Image Image

I only have 349 miles on it so far......the overhead is showing 16.7 mpg. I've not run my first full tank through it yet, and I'm sure the dealer didn't top off the tank like I would have. I guess the first fill up will tell close to the truth after I fuel it up myself. It has about 3/8ths of a tank left right now, so I kinda feel the overhead is close. On my previous 3 CTD's, it generally took abou 20k to 25k before the optimum fuel economy came around.

you gonna put anything on it, or leave it stock for a while.?

i would have a hard time NOT putting a 6 inch, loudest diesel muffler i could get, exhaust system on it before i even drove it off the lot.

super sweet ride.

Definitely let us know how that 68RFE tranny holds up.

Remember MrMopar64 telling us how the 545 was going to get beefed up big time for '08? Well, according to Suncoast, related thru others, that's exactly what the 68RFE is. Matter of fact, the new tranny pump that several have had put in is basically the same pump that goes in the 68RFE. Gives me a warm fuzzy, if that pump is sturdy enough to hold up behind a 6.7 Cummins.... :D .

Also, supposedly there is enough commonality between the two trannys that you could swap the beefier parts of a 68 into a 545, or perhaps even swap out your 545 for a 68 altogether.

A Suncoast TC, a six speed auto hefty enough for a Cummins, and an Inmotion/Rocketchip tune. NOW WE'RE TALKING!
