Finally getting around to solving the humming from the Drivers side of the engine.
My first intuition was the EGR, last night I discovered the noise is from the FCV (TCV).
I called to see if that was under warranty (standard 7-70) and the FCV is actually on the injector pump. This unit in between the inter-cooler and the intake is called the Throttle Control Valve, not covered, and it cost $360 :(

Time to disassemble! hopefully be able to clean it out and solve the problem...
With that out of the way, I can get to the EGR, I may pull just to clean it out.

AFC, FCV, Butterfly valve, it's the same valve in the air intake tube. I've been cleaning mine since last year. Before the ORM, it would be caked with oily soot 1 mm thick. Ever since the ORM, nothing but a light coating of oil. The edge of the AFC had a thicker layer of oily, sooty gritty goop on it the consistency of paste glue - it's easy to see how it would cause the valve to stick shut.

A can of carb cleaner and a tooth brush does wonders on this valve.

Cool, Thanx Ranger1
After a good cleaning and a reset to open, I'm planning on several weeks of offroad operation.

You know, I'm thinking mine must be stuck in an unfortuneate position. I don't get a change from ORM vs stock anymore. Might be time for a cleaning!

This link shows the appropriate pictures for the FCV or TCV which ever name you choose to call it.
