That ETC light flashes once in a while, manual says its bad. Only happens in hot weather, it seems. This time it doesn't seem to be going away. Any thoughts? Also, anyone know which fuse connect covers this thingybob? Usually this stuff goes away with a nice new fuse. Can't understand what it has to do with the heat I HATE going to the stealer Only mod now if the MAF unplugged...can't see how that is part of it. |

Heat causes resistance to go up - if the circuit is breaking down, the added resistance from the heat could be causing it to essentially become an open circuit ... just a thought. |

I had this happen several months ago. I had bought some bad diesel with green stuff in it which clogged the filter, thus increasing the suction from the CP3. It sucked a big air bubble when the wife stomped the accelerator and somehow made the throttle control light come on. I think that the CPU realizes that the rail pressure is very suddenly different from the what it should be according to the TPS and throws it into limp mode. After starting and shutting off once it left limp mode and after the second start the light went off. |

Ah HA! So the air leaks in the fuel filter head or gassing out from hot fuel might be related to the Throttle Control warning? I was wondering about that. CRD did the air-bubble die-out after starting this morning, pumped out a LOT of air from the filter head. Hmmmmm makes sense. Good catch, nursecosmo! |
