Post subject:  OBD light question

Want to pose a question regarding the OBD light on the dash (yellow one that looks like an engine)...during a 450 mile trip to NC I had the light come on and got a little nervous being so far away from home. I was really hoping that it would not start flashing and thankfully it didn't. Took it to an Autozone in NC and had them scan it but it not throw a code with a scanner even though the light was on (makes me think it is a dealer specific code). There is no change in the drive of the car, and no difference in engine response. Just wanted to know if anyone has has a similar issue and what was the diagnosis? I plan to take it to the dealer on Monday but any thoughts would ease my mind a little so I know if it might be something long-term or that could happen again because my warranty is about up. I know the problem is a little vague since I have not taken it in yet but I figured I'd give all the experts a crack at it. Thanks.

Some scanners do not work with the CRD. Just becuase their scanner didn't pull a code doesn't mean you don't have a code tripped. I'd find another place and try their scanner.

Has F31 been done? It was for aftermarket scanners not working with our crd's. I have a vag-com and it would not work with my crd till F31 was done. Now it works properly.

Lots of times the code will go away, if the problem that caused it goes away, after a few engine shut downs.
