I've been getting a clunk in the right front when I hit a bump at low speeds. This has been going on since I got lifted. I was thinking about new lift specific struts for the front but I wanted to have a look first and see if anything is just plain loose.

I had the exact same issue after lifting. Take the top part of the airbox off and then just PULL the bottom part straight up. More than likley though you wont find anything. I fixed my clunk by getting OME HD sprimgs and struts.

I know this sounds stupid, but I thought the clunk was coming from the rear so I put new shocks on the rear. How important are the springs? My next step was replacing the struts in the process of elimination. :x

Someone had a clunk from loose motor mounts - if you don't see anything obvious - add that to the checklist.

That was me with the clunk coming from the passenger side motor mount I just drove into the jeep dealer and told them what to do and they turned the motor mount about 3 to 4 turns tighter and that took care of all the clunking sound and it hasn't returned since and that was febuary.

I had a shop check out the motor mounts. The tech got beneath Little Mack and had me start it a few times. Nothing unusual was noted. I wanted to check beneath the air box just to make sure the shop that lifted it didn't leave a tool in there somewhere (it has happened to me before!). Shop that installed my new tires also gave it a good look and nothing unusual was apparent.

Ahh.. when the airbox is out check to make sure the black metal bracket which holds the steering fluid bottle is properly bolted down! There are three bolts which need to be bolted down or the bracket will rattle! They had to remove that bracket if they had to remove your struts and install the lift. The third bolt is very hard to reach and I could totally see a shop not bolting that one up. It's down on the wheel well.. towards the firewall under where people like to put their ProVents. There was a wire "clipped" to the top of this bolt using some weird plastic tab. The clip keeps the wire from falling on the manifold and melting I guess. If you stuff your hand down there you can feel it.
