They're just joking. Good for you and glad you had a great time. I wheel mine all the time. Just be careful when the turbo kicks in...

Nothing wrong at all wheelin a stock CRD...with a set of BFG Mud Terrains. Looks like they got you everywhere you wanted to go. Got any skids yet? That would be my first mod...the stock CRD engine skid is just a shell and you need to protect the tranny pan and rocker panels too.

I don't wheel my jeep much. The Montero gets that job, but I'm doing a SFA swap on it so the jeep had to do. The BFG were a bit over kill for me, but I got pissed off at the crap good years one day when I had to go in 4wd to go on some wet grass. I don't need skids for the little bit I do. I'm very careful about what lines I take. I guess off roding in IFS trucks all the time I got very good at picking a good line to take

Ya x2 ^^^^ be careful...

ive heard bad things about front CV's and turbos mixing in a fatal combination. But Once you get used to where the turbo kicks in and now to use it, its not an issue, just be careful and know that the Torque of the CRD has more potential to blow out your front axles. Esp as your learning how to use, and just getting used to the turbo.

My CRD torque converter calmly locks at 1000-1200 rpm with a steady use of the throttle and is easily conroled to keep the MAP under 20PSI (helps to have a scan gauge to know this tho). And the thing happily motors over boulders no problem.

1) pedal on the right is like shooting a slingshot, i.e. dont pull back too far or something will snap

2) decided to drive over the rail road tie at the end off the driveway (no drop on the other side, just separates the grass from the gravel) to get to the garden...thought i knocked the filter off...ordered tranny and t case skids from mopar the next day.

They are bad*ss vehicles, clearance is at a premium however. Hence the Frankenlift to be installed Laborday weekend...

Rkeegstra is doing that same thing laborday (not a CRD tho) I digress... I had a franken install a few weeks back, the new one is now only a 2.25" lift in the front, and no spacers, 500lb springs, ome's all round...bla bla, im sure you know.. just wanted to note i have the new one not an old frankenlift. I ABSOLUTLY LOVE IT. NO problems what so ever, articulation is beyond fantastic (see post in here w/ link in it). My rear wheel is flexed completely out of the wheel well in the rear. Rides Solid too, feels like it should have all along rather than being slammed and sloppy like it was stock. I could go on but i wont, either way enjoy it man, they are worth it.... Axle and ball joint angles are moderate too all round great design i think...

I am soo excited to get it put together...You would think there would be a marketing advantage for a company to build a vehicle that rides like that on the test drive!! oh well, thanks to aftermarket we can still get what we want.
