I popped a couple of codes on my CRD recently. I had them read by Auto Zone. I have noticed that my CRD shifts pretty hard sometimes. Hard enough to make your body snap forward a bit. Also when placing into gear you can hear and feel the "Clunk." Thats mainly after driving for a period and them placing into park though. Here are the codes:

P0700 - Transmission Control System (MIL Request)

P0714 - Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor Circuit Intermittent

Can someone please explain what these codes mean?

I don't have a clue as to what they mean, however check the wiring harness from the transmission up around the exhust and towards the engine. It sometimes gets to close to the exhust and shorts out or gets rubbed by something.

How is your tranny fluid level? Remember, only the "hot" marks are correct.

longarm, I have P0700 and P0876 after changing trans fluid and filters. This morning I have addd more fluid in order to get to hot marks and disconnected the battery, in hopes the codes will clear. The code will clear with scan guage but show up when starting. I will keep all posted .

This is covered in another post but, I occasionally get the P0841 (Tranny pressure sensor out of range) and the P0700 (generic Tranny trouble) . the CEL is cleared with SGII but the P0841 keeps popping up for 10+ restarts and about three warm up / cool down cycles.
My CRD is at the dealership for the blower recall and will be getting the latest flashes to the TCM. We shall see if this fixes the code problem.

Bill
