I'm getting ready to do some fluid changes ( have had the amsoil for some time, but been out of the county a lot lately) and thought I might as well get reusable gaskets.

Going to buy the gasket for the 8.25 diff, also thought I might as well get one for the trans.

Not even - you have the 545RFE - the 45RFE is the same, however

ok .. can you speak in Midwestern for me? I'm in Iceland right now and I can only translate one language at a time ... heh

I think I remember that I have the 545 .. but I thought the difference was some internals? are the pan and gasket the same ? or should I just get one from autozone or similar ?

The 45RFE is the early 4-speed version of the 545RFE, which is the 5-speed version of the 68RFE, which is the 6-speed used behind the Cummins in the Dodge trucks - the pans are the same amongst those three

The gasket for all three of those comes in a convenient tube - Permatex Black RTV - or Permatex gray RTV - Room Temperature Vulcanizing rubber form-in-place gasket - one tube is adequate coverage for the install
