Cessna Skyhawk TD & the Diamond DA42 Twin Star diesels look a lot like our VM Motori engines I saw the Twin Star at the EAA flyin Same valve train setup as our 2.8. Check their web site .Pigs fly! Something to think about |

My brother in law has a plane (or two now). He got me looking a while back. I looked over diamond air's web page. That twin diesel engine plane is very cool. I so wish I could afford an aircraft so I won't have to deal with commercial. |

It would be far more expensive to operate. Maintinence is a killer too on planes. My boss' husband is a flight instructor, he couldn't afford his 'hobby' if he didn't have a way to monotize most of his flights(ie: get students to pay him). |

Yes Diesel are great!! Involved with wing modifcation right now on DA-42, the Thielert diesels IMHO were the wrong choice for the DA-42 , too expensive to overhaul and to complex. But since Jet-fuel is pretty much the only thing left north of 60 you pretty much have to show up with a diesel airplane 2 stroke aviation diesel> http://www.deltahawkengines.com/ -G |
