I just read a study done by the Diesel Place (Aug 2007) - "Diesel Fuel Lubricity Additives Study Results".
They evaluated 19 additives. Biodiesel was number 1 and OPti-Lube XPD was number 2. The benefit seems to drop off dramatically after number 4.
http://www.opti-lube.com/XPD.htm is the Optilube Web Site.
My 2006 CRD has 30,000 miles and has always averaged between 22 and 27 mpg. I have test drove the new 2007 Grand Cheorkee Diesel and for another $20k to 25k. it just doesn't make sense to get one. Have decided to keep the Liberty CRD, even with some of its ongoing problems and hope to put several hundred thousand miles on it.
I Have a couple of questions.
1. Has anyone used Opti-Lube XPD Diesel Additive yet?
2 Will it help me reach the 250,000or 300,000 mile engine life diesels are supposed to get ?
