How does the dealer flash the prom? Do they use the ODB II port? Or is there another access point they use? I need to take the Liberty into a dealer that I do not trust - they stripped out the drain plug on an oil change and are willing to replace the pan for $100 (that is another story) I would like to know if there is "tampering" with the computer. |

I have watched them do my KJ several times. They hook up a thinggie to the OBD port, than they go over to a regular computer and do the actual flash from that point. The units are not hooked by wire so they must be wireless between them. The regular computer is the star and it talks to DC, in this case, the dealership using the phone lines, so it was very slow. The way they told me was the flash came from headquarters, not from any software they have. When they did my F-37, the flash would load to like 95 percent than stop. They had it over a week and ended up replacing the ECM, not once but twice. Steve |

Good Point - so maybe it should be a KY Dispenser? I think I found a solution if it works I'll post a pic tonight. |
