Post subject:  Oil Bolt Torque Specifications?

I am getting ready to soon do any oil change and will be replacing the factory bolt with a fumoto.
What is the recommended torque specification to prevent over tightening?

Thanks
Larry

I just ordered the fumoto as well and searched yesterday. i came up with 25lbs in a couple posts as recommended, I will do 18lbs. That will hold I'm pretty sure.

The service manual says 37lb-ft or 50nm for the 2.8CRD, so have many posts elsewhere.

We work in nm, so in my terms 50nm is very very tight for a sump plug. I only went ~30nm which is about 22lb-ft when I did my oil change. I have done ~2000kms since this and no sign of leaking. I did use a new copper sump gasket which helps.

Don't forget the copper gasket on the drain plug  If it's left off the bottom of the drain plug damadges the first one or two threads. Next time it's out and BINGO
