Manuel says 6250. I try to change mine around 5,000 to 6,000. If fact, I just changed it today, used Rotella 5w-40 Syn this time to see if any dif in Mobile 1 0-40. Steve |

With the 4% odom error 6250 on the clock = 6500 miles traveled. |

I'm on 7000 mile intervals. Backed up with uoa. Maybe will try 8000 this time. It just seems weird not changing the oil a couple times a year. |

Here is my delima, I dropped the oil a couple of weeks ago at 50,000 miles. I will be driving from WI to NM in early may and by the time I get back I will have well over 56,000 on the vehicle. On the last fillup I used Rotells 5-40. Should I drop the oil before I go or should I run it out to around 7,000 miles on an oil change. I feel I should let it go since it will be alot of hoghway miles but my better half thinks I should change it before we leave. |

I'd leave it in. I've done oil analysis at 7000 that showed the oil still good to use. This was with the ORM keeping the oil cleaner and using Rotella synthetic 5W40. I now use a larger Mobil 1 filter and I'm going to go to 10,000. I still think that's conservative with quality synthetic, quality filter, ORM and any top-ups you might have to do in that interval. |

You'll be fine, the oil lasts longer than the interval, and if you notice the other schedule on your maintinence guide it actually says its fine to 12,500 miles as long as your not doing heavy off roading or towing. Skip the change, do it when you get back. |

Manual says 12,500, I go about 8-10k. I have been doing 8-10k since the 80's with synthetic oil. My friend goes 30k and he has over 200k on his F350. |

Manual suggests 6,000 intervals when towing, idling, city driving, offroading, cold temperatures etc. (hey, who would think offroading and city driving was equally bad to the oil ? With none of the above you can go on 12,000 intervals. My jeep has gone on that for 60,000 until I got it, now it is being changed at 6,000 during winter and 12,000 during summer, depending on the conditions I drive in. I think I would be hard pressed to change at 12,000 during this summer with my big trip planned |

I'm running the standard 6,250. My theory is that oil is cheaper than replacing an engine. |

I follow the 12000 mile interval. My oil is always great. -c |
