Big topic elsewhere. The theory is that Brown's gas can be sucked into the intake to cause a more complete burn of your fuel. This in turn will increase your MPG. So far I have not heard or seen anyone actually make this work that documented the changes properly. On the flip side, racers with turbos use water / methanol injection systems to run high compression engines with more boost thus creating more HP. |

That’s true, but it don’t have anything to do with hydrogen. The way that works is that the atomized water droplets convert to steam and expands a thousand times. When it expands it increases your bang for the buck. Another side effect is that when it does it’s phase change from a liquid to a vapor, it absorbs heat, which cools the flame front inside the cylinder. This effectively raises your octane level and kills detonation. A clean way to raise boost without hurting the engine. |

I think that it is simply water injection thats been around. I had an old 77 Royal Monaco station wagon with a H0 440 CI V8 that the previous owner had an after market water injection system that was supposed to help with spark knock when you couldn't get t 100 octane fuel (try and find that today). I only tied it once and it didn't do anything. By the way that beast would pass anything but a gas station. 7 to 9 MPG and maybe 11 on a very good day on the highest octane fuel you could find. It was a bit overkill for pulling our pop up camper. |

I think that particular guy is a scam, but there are many folks doing some really interesting work with H2 systems that are valid. Heck, do a search for RAVI on youtube. The coolest fringe product I've ever seen are the cavitation water heaters. |

I saw this about a year or two ago and found it simply amazing. I don't know if to believe it or not but it does look legit. Imagine the possibilities. http://www.freeenergynews.com/Directory ... erFuel.wmv |

Whether it's "legit" or not remains to be seen. But it is most certainly bound to increase your mileage by only a percentage point at most; add more and the energy required to split your water results in a net energy loss and a DROP in mileage. |

On the other hand.... http://www.hydrogen-boost.com/hydrogeninjection.html Looks as though there may have been some credible research on this, as far as using small amounts of hydrogen/oxygen added to the air intake as a fuel additive (ie, like adding a few ounces of 2 stroke oil for lubrication) to improve combustion, but you're still running on gas or diesel. In the past, I have seen ads from reputable well-established manufacturing companies offering commercial grade hydrogen generators sized to mount on Class 8 OTR trucks for this very purpose. This was as far back as 15 years ago, long before the current flurry of activity created by the recent astronomical rise in fuel prices. I have spoken first-hand with one gent I know at work who installed one of these Brown's gas devices on his Honda gasser, and claims he's gotten as much as a 7 mpg increase in fuel mileage. I've known the guy for a few years at work, and have no reason to believe he's an outright liar, but then again I'm not accepting what he says as the gospel truth either. Let's just say that his first-person claims, along with info from other sources I've seen over the years, leads me to believe this might be worthy of further investigation. But I'm certainly not going to do it via the water4gas website. You're quite right, that particular company looks to be nothing more than a scam operation. $97 for a book on how to build an electrolysis unit, when you can get the same basic info from your public library for free? Seen the same thing over the years with electric vehicles - for every gent that would give you a realistic assessment of the limitations of EV's and attempt to dissuade people from spending their money on one if their driving needs didn't match those limitations, there were two or three waiting in the wings willing to promise you 200 miles on a charge and batteries that would never die just to con you out of your money. Same situation here, trying to sort the wheat from the chaff. |

I only hear rumors about it. Nothing like, "It's works, this is what I did, I'll stop by and let you check it out. Here's my before and after gas logs." I have a beater honda that could be used for experiment. Of course that money could be better spent on beer. I've seen a few videos about the increase in MPG, but they didn't run a full tank, or even document the fuel consumption properly. |

....Political leaders have proven this over time. Adding any fuel such as Hydrogen, Methane, or Propane to the intake of a Diesel Engine will reduce consumption of Diesel Fuel. Stationary dual fuel engines do this on a regular basis. Adding Hydrogen does work as would a O2 H2 mixture they refer to as Brown's gas. But even those with Advanced Engineering Degrees are bound by the laws of Physics. To get that type of performance out of that small quantity of water would require a FUSION reaction and not simple combustion. Steve |

A couple of weeks ago Mythbusters did this very test. Check the Discovery Channel's web site and maybe they have a link posted to this test. Anyway, Adam in Mythbusters couldn't get it to work either.... |

If you really wanted to give this a try to see if it worked, there's a simple way to build a hydrogen generator, and it could involve drinking copious amounts of beer! Find a stout pressure vessel, such as an old pressure cooker. The mixture involved requires water, Red Devil lye, and cut up aluminum cans - that's where the beer drinking comes in, creating your aluminum supply! |

You mean they'd need a Mr. Fusion like "He Who Has Been Banned" claimed that two high school kids built in their garage? Sorry, just couldn't resist that one. |
