Just a FYI -for you four wheeling , diesel, high-mileage types, I posted info on some new tires I got.

Bottom line.... I got mud / AT hybrids that weigh 10 lbs less each than the BFG ATs. see

Bill,
Lighter tires sounds good.
You are getting me thinking about tire weight.

Onthehunt,
Thanks for posting that tire safety article.

Bill, those are some pretty nice looking tires for a daily driver with a little off-road prowice. They remind me of the stock units on military land rovers (diagonally oriented block tread). Kinda gives an old-school look. I'll bey they'd be really sweet with NATO-style steelies and a tall profile :)

Thanks DGeist.

Ya... since I cant really have two cars, I want my Daily Driver to do off road also. Even though I only do 2% of my miles off road, I can t have 2% offroad tires, ya know what I mean? Once I decided to do any offroading, I was commited to getting tires that match that terrain at a minimum. The R/Ts seem like a good compromise. ya it will cost me in fuel and tire wear, but that is an expense I can afford (cant afford two cars).
