I most often buy at the RaceTrack nearby in Middleburg. Most reasonable
price and best/consistent quality. Also, I can pay at the pump so its more
convienient.
Exxon, accross the street from it, is in a price war. So, price is the same
but I cant pay at the pump there.
Murphy (WallMart) has the lowest price but has inconsistent quality
around here. Sometimes water in fuel and generally running like crap.

You forgot the most important reason for me  Where the quality is consistantly high

Yeah, I thought about it and somehow forgot to add it in.

Not an option around here. Sure wish it was.

Flying J is my hotel and fuel stop when I'm traveling, otherwise its wherever happens to be cheapest UNLESS there is a biodiesel location nearby. Then its biodiesel for me.

BTW, I define "nearby" for bio as within 80 miles one way. But I'm also usually buying 60+ gallons of the stuff at a time.

Not really one single thing that I pick based on, at least around town where I've been to all the stations at least once and tested a tank or two from. My selection process goes something like this...

1 - Quality - if the station has poor quality fuel, I'll never go there (again), regardless of cost or convienience.

2.1 - Cost - knowing the quality is good, I'll go to the cheapest station...depending on my schedule.

2.2 - Convienience - convienience trumps cost if the difference is less than 4 cents per gallon. It also trumps cost if we're in a rush to get out of town. I'd rather fill up at a local station that I know than to take my chances at an unknown station in BFE Virginia. I'll also fill up at a more expensive station that's on my route out of town, rather than driving further into town to fill up on cheaper fuel, and then coming all the way back to leave town.

I'm not too far away from attempting to make my own fuel. I think I'll buy an older diesel to try the first hundred or so batches on though. :-)

Flying J at 67th and I-10. It's usually the cheapest and the fuel is consistantly good. There is only 1 biodiesel supplier in the Phoenix area and there price fluctuates constantly. Last time I looked they stopped posting it on there website.

* I chose closest but at least during the summer I take a 7 mile detour each way to fill up with B20 @ a $0.10 premium over #2 diesel at Duggan's Petrol in Englewood CO
