Just for the record, I am now changing my oil once a year in my Dodge Cummins with an oil analysis that comes back good and showing that the oil is suitable for continued use with regular intervals. To be honest, I only put on 13,000 miles per year on the truck. However, most of those miles are pulling. The by-pass has made it possible to change my oil once a year. My biggest concern was condensation build-up in the motor and the quality of oil as the truck sets parked most of the time. Sometimes 3 weeks go by without starting it up. The oil analysis showed a 0.3 soot/solids (% weight) and 0 water (% volume) Here’s the TBN number:

Amsoil 5W30 HDD TBN is 12.1 (Virgin oil)
Amsoil 5W30 HDD TBN is 9.97 (One year and 13,700 miles)

I will be installing a by-pass on the JK CRD. I was wondering what some of you are getting on your CRD’s with a by-pass to compare data.

Where are you going to squeeze the thing under the hood? I'd love to see pictures.

Which vehicle are you talking about? The KJ Liberty or the JK Wrangler? If you search around, you can view pictures of people who have installed the by-pass system on the KJ liberty. I do not know anyone currently who has installed the by-pass on the JK with a CRD swap. However, Todd at Diseltoyz is doing my swap and he said it wont be any problem. But then again, his installations are like art work and there's nothing that he can't do.

Stan, also known as Eurekaboy, is a great guy with a great mind for creativeness. He is wanting to install a remote by-pass system. His link is here: http://liberty.eurekaboy.com/ He will have a nice write-up when he completes his installation.
