| Post subject: | Limp in & ORM related? |
Lately with my new commute to work - lots of stop and go - the Great Mysterious Limp In problem was happening almost daily for 3 weeks. When I started having the TC slip problem (noted in another post) I plugged the MAF back in in preparation to take it to the stealership. I drove it for about a week and a half like that and several things happened: 1. What's with all this turbo lag!? 2. Mileage went down a bit. 3. Blew black smoke on hard acceleration for a couple days. Guess the EGR is cleaner now. 4. Sets a P0105 MAF Performance Fault occasionally at warm idle - don't care it will be gone again soon. and finally 5. It went the whole time without a single limp in event. So is this just coincidence? Do people not running ORM get limp in? What about with the SEGR? (No my Rev 1.0 kit still isn't installed.) |

Sounds like your vacuum system is problematic, from turbo-lag and black smoke complaint and limping - have'em checkit out |

I wasn't worried about 1-4 after running the ORM for 40,000 miles over the last 12 months. The lag was what it had before. The smoke went away afer a couple days, no doubt gunk in the reactivated EGR, I shudder thinking about all that garbage in my engine. Just another possible theory/a little more information about the persistent limp in problem many of us seem to face. I can't exactly tell the stealership "I usually run it with the MAF disconnected but when I do it sometimes has no power when accelerating from a stop." They're replacing the valve body in the trans under warranty, hopefully that fixes the cold start problem... |
