Where are you guys plumbing a lift pump in the fuel lines? I have a Facet 40109 I'm going to use to push fuel thru Stanadyne FM100. I was wondering where to put it. I want to put it close to the tank. I noticed there is a soft line from the tank to the hard line over the rear diff. Anyone know the ID of that line? That would be easier to deal with than the hard line.

The supply side needs 5/16" line, the return 1/4".

I just cut into the hard line under the rear seat and mounted the pump on the rail. I dont know if you could do that with a filter though.

I thought the supply was 3/8". That's certainly the fuel line size off the filter.

yes its 3/8 at the fuel head, I think they were sized for the fuel head fittings. The hardline to hose in the engine bay is a manufactured connection, not one you can disassemble.

I replaced the fuel tank flexible lines from the hardlines to the fuel tank when I installed the lift pump. I used 5/16 on the supply line. It was a perfect fit on my 2005

I measured the hard line ahead of the tank today. The OD of the line is 3/8".

I ended up removing the factory flexible supply lines and fittings at the tank. I put 5/16 rubber line over the hard line and tank head outlet with hose clamps and put in a Faucet pump in between. Seems to be working fine. The quick connect fittings fits 3/8 inch line but I broke one of those getting it off and the other was loose. The 5/16 fit over the lines themselves very well.

This is my worry when I get around to the lift pump mod, how do I tell which line is the fuel line to the motor and not the return, is it that obvious?
Thanks/

The bigone is the supply and the small one is the return.

Well that makes sense, guess it could have been a bit less obvious... Thanks.

I added a Facit pump to determine if it was the cause of my shuddering problems (it was  ) I put it on the line going into the filter under the hood by puting the input filter line on the pump then a short piece of hose from the pump to the filter. It worked so well I went ahead and added the intank Cummins pump :D It was not really all that hard.

Under the hood the fuel line is 7mm, 5/16" is close
