Drove past the Exxon staion here in Middleburg. Regular Unleaded Gasolene: $4.14 gal Diesel: $3.99 gal ?!? These prices seem to vary wildly around here although diesel seems to stay right around $4 a gallon. The RaceTrac across the street was $3.89 for RegU and $3.99 for diesel. |

It's just because of the hurricane. The price of RUG should be no more than $3.50 and diesel no more than $3.80. The prices will go down when the power goes back up in Texas. Crude is now under $100 so prices should drop soon. |

Yep, Thursday night in this neck of the woods, RUG immediately jumped up to anywhere from 4.14 to 4.59, and in other local communities I've heard as high as 4.79. And some stations immediately instituted rationing as well - 10 gallon limit per customer. But I can still get diesel for 3.95 to 4.14. But since a tank lasts me 2 to 3 weeks in either vehicle, I'll be able to wait until the hoorah is over before needing to purchase any. |

Before I left UT back in Feb, diesel was usually cheaper than premium; at least at the Flying J's in Draper it was. As a matter of fact, my jerry can is still filled with $3.25 diesel I bought at that station. |

I've heard about some stations in SC that are up to 6 or 7 per gallon. Florida had a 70 cent jump in one town overnight, rationing and shortages around Orlando... But Governor Crist has announced that there is no supply problem for Florida. Oh goody, so that increase is just price gouging, right? Of course he said he hasn't seen any examples yet of gouging. |

Our governor and attorney general actually went public and said for anyone that knew of a station that did an immediate jump up to these levels, to take a picture of their price sign with the date and time, their location, etc, and to pass this info along to the state authorities - he said they would be prosecuting them for price gouging. if they follow thru, it's about bloody time. |

No significant change in diesel prices in Ft Lauderdale. My usual station is up .10 since the hurricane, but it's still down .20 from last month. |
