Post subject:  Electric fan part number

My electric fan died because of massive snow inhalation. I think the part number is 52079 727AA. This is the fan that sits in front of the radiator. Is that the right part number? Thanks.

I can't find 5143021AA. I found the number above and the clutch fan part number. I don't need the clutch fan part number just the fan that sits in front of the radiator (between the bumper and the radiator). Is the 5143021AA the right part number?

That is always my luck! The most expensive on is what I need. I would rather spend it on a new tranny pump for the suncoast!!!!

give Hall's chrysler, Jeep, Dodge a call. You can get their contact info off Ebay. Tell them you would like the ebay pricing for the part you need. The saved me a bunch of money. In the past they have been priced at or just below wholesale.

Did the fan die from the snow or because it is too cold out. The defrostor / AC compressor in the wifes Ford does not come on when it is below 40degrees out. We may have the same type of system. the AC compressor should not come on if it's too cold out, if no compressor, no fan etc.

If you have a insulated garage, plug the thing in, and put a heater in front. let things get warm and see if the compressor and fan cycles.

This is the first post for me, been lurking for a while. Aren't these things fun in the snow?

Allen :)

I could smell the fan when I got out of the jeep to check the radiator. It was cooked.

The 05's maybe fun in the snow but my 06 is not. It has the ESP that makes it near impossible to have any fun in the snow, even with the traction control off. If the rear slides out just a little the ABS system starts hitting the brakes to keep you going straight.

BTW, Welcome to the boards.

Hmmmm.. I am concerned about mine. I drove through the winter storm in the Columbia gorge - between Portland and Yakima Valley, on Christmas Eve. It was impacted with snow and ice when I got there, and had a bra/shield about 3 inches thick across the front Grille. The fan had ice clear through and up against the radiator... amazing. There was heavy snowfall and it was in the low 20's on the east side of the Cascades. It finally thawed and fell off (the external ice) today when temps climbed to the high 30's.

I'll have to check it out and see what's left now that it's cleared of the ice.

Good news is that it started like a champ in single-digit temps in the valley AM's.

Pull the 20 amp fuse under the hood for the ABS on the 06 when you want to have fun. You will have to clear the CEL afterwards but it is well worth it as you know! I learned that trick after my fan died. I wish the ESP could be turned off a different way without a CEL but that is the way she is.

Thanks for the tip, I'll try it out next time it snows.

When I did the Suncoast, tranny pump, shift kit, aux trans cooler and thermal bypass the electric fan got pulled.
I do cool downs for the turbo.
I guess it helps the AC during hot stop and go's so I kept it for when I move to the desert.
With the increased T/C efficiency and aux cooler the AC cooler is unburdened and not sharing tranny heat.
Most of the winter my Alaska Tent is zipped up tight and it is plugged in at night.
