But I am not alone. When I was new here back in 2005 I aked (it would have been in the general forum as the CRD forum did not exist yet) how to get at them. The answer was to just reach in behind the lamp, twist the collar and fish them out.

Since I am dedicated to keeping Sylvania in business I do need to change lamps often but darn I have hated changing them and I have lost a lot of blood doing them the why I was instructed. I had to face the music though as first my right fog burned out, then my left low beam and finally my right low beam all within a week of single digit temperatures and 47" of newly fallen snow. In the process I found a better way for those who are trying to install them from behind.

1) Take off the grill. 2) Pop off the fog lamps. 3) Remove the two screws on the inside of the lamp housing with the combination Torx/Hex heads. 4) Tip the housing from the screw side to slip out a retaining tab on the outside of the housing and the housing is free to easily replace the headlamps. 5) Reverse process.

The only problem is that taking the grill off is a pain in the keister and I am sure that at some point I will have broken enough tabs off to require replacement.

Hey, if it's easier and it works for you, especially in the cold temps, do it!
But I'll keep your method in mind the first time I need to change a bulb.
BTW-the only good thing about working outside in the cold is that when you do
bust up your hands or fingers you don't feel it. Not right away.

I never had to replace my headlight bulbs but I have to remove my ARB bumper w/ winch to remove the grill. I hope pulling the bulbs from behind isn't THAT hard when I have to do it.

yeah, i didn't have such a hard time with my headlights because I ditched the OE airbox for my custom aftermarket setup...but the fogs are a huge pain, and will facilitate great frustration, as well as many scrapes and exclaimed profanities.
