Found an interesting plow rig from Snowbear Ltd (all electric/no hydraulics), but it is not configured for the CRD because of alleged frame differences from the gas versions.

Can't seem to find anything on this site using the search function about plowing with a KJ.

Your thoughts?

Thanks,

DOC

The only frame difference is the engine cradle, that I am aware of.

Plowing snow can be very disastrous for a unibody vehicle.

Hard enough on any vehicle even one with a frame, now if you are only going to be doing a small driveway with 2 or 3 inches of snow , but then whats the point
Big waste of money for what you get into. I had a 6 foot on a 69 EB for two winters and then had to redo the suspension etc

A snow plow would be an incredibly manly addition to the Jeeps of those of us who are trying to compensate for other inadequacies.

I'd rock it. People out there don't give anywhere NEAR enough credit to how tough these vehicles really are. The unibody isn't substantially worse than a standard frame. Sure, I'd love to have a ladder frame, but would it help that much in everyday life and hauling? Not really. It's all in how the toys are attached. If the attachment point doesn't thicken up the frame, it will put too much force on one or two isolated points. But if the connection is reinforced (like it is in the back, I'll admit to not having looked at the front yet) then your toys will be just fine to use.

If the unibody can pull 7000 lbs of trailer PLUS the 3500 lbs of itself, without twisting from the torque... I don't think pushing around a few snowcones will do that much either.

Give your vehicle more credit.

It's not going to push as much as a Ram 3500 but it can handle a driveway or parking lot well enough.
